Led Zeppelin is your uncle’s classic rock. 808 State is mine! Wish there were radio stations that played stuff like this all day so you could hear it when you went into local business’s all over America.
808 State are a British electronic music outfit, formed in 1987 in Manchester, taking their name from the Roland TR-808 drum machine and their common state of mind. They were formed by Graham Massey, Martin Price and Gerald Simpson, and they released their debut Newbuild in September 1988.
Here’s the tune that changed my life… Pacific State. Sounds classic. I can’t say the same for the motion graphics. I suppose 20 years ago this was where it was at!
